The Foyer Gallery is an artist-run exhibition space, operating under the auspices of the Foyer Gallery Artists’ Association and the City of Ottawa. Established in 1997, the Foyer Gallery increases the awareness, appreciation and promotion of visual arts in the community. It provides a valuable and rewarding experience for artists, art patrons, and the general public.

The Foyer Gallery showcases original works of art created by a juried group of emerging and well-established visual artists from the region. Foyer Gallery artists, many of whom have received local, national and international recognition, specialize in a variety of media, from oil, watercolour, acrylic, graphite, pastel, coloured pencil, mixed media, fibre art and photography to sculptural works in wood, metal, clay, marble, glass, as well as other 3D assemblages.

At the Foyer Gallery, the art is unique and professional. Visitors also appreciate that this friendly gallery is always staffed by a knowledgeable artist. Exhibitions include themed group shows, focus shows featuring the work of three to five artists, and solo shows. Exhibitions typically change every three weeks, so there is always something new to see.

The Gallery has over 600 square feet of glassed enclosed space located in the front foyer of the Nepean Sportsplex, entrance 1. Annual traffic for the Nepean Sportsplex is approximately 1.5 million visitors. Although the gallery is open during specific hours, private showings are also available by appointment.

Displays cases in Sportsplex corridor

Additionally, two glass display cases located in the Sportsplex corridor near the gallery, always feature solo or group showings of works for sale by gallery artists.

Viewers’ Choice Awards

Foyer Gallery visitors have the opportunity to vote for their favourite artwork in an exhibition by filling out a voting ballot. The artwork with the most votes receives a Viewers’ Choice Award and is displayed for an additional amount of time in the gallery and on our website.  We encourage everyone to vote for their favourite piece when visiting our gallery.
