VIEWERS' CHOICE AWARD

The Viewers’ Choice Award for the “Attraction” group focus show (April 24 – May 13, 2018) went to Terry Cowan's painting “Capital Rain”. Congratulations, Terry!

Marie Arsenault

Marie Arsenault is an artist who over the years has worked in oils, papermache, watercolour, and acrylic. She has studied with the following artists: Morton Baslaw (Ottawa School of Art), Shawn McNevin, and Nancy Mayron. Marie enjoys traveling and many of her works have been inspired by her travels thought Canada and other countries.

Marie’s work is bright, using bold colours to achieve the look she wants. Marie was born in Chicoutimi, Quebec and raised in Ottawa, where she resides. In 2011, Marie was selected by the City of Ottawa to work from their Staffford Studios. Presently, Marie also sits on the executive of the Nepean Fine Arts League.

Remembering Ahmad Humayun (1940-2018)

The Foyer Gallery Artist Association was deeply saddened to hear the passing of artist Ahmad Humayun in late April. Ahmad joined the Foyer Gallery in 2002, and had been a loyal member, colleague, and contributor ever since. His artworks and presence will always be remembered and will be greatly missed.

Congratulations to Foyer artist Margaret Chwialkowska, who has been selected as one of the tree finalists for the Ottawa Arts Council Mid-Career Artist Award! The Ottawa Arts Council Mid-Career Artist Award was established to recognize and encourage the achievements of Ottawa artists of all disciplines who have evolved beyond the emerging stage in their career to become recognized professional working artists contributing to the community.
