“My Underwater series is not about the swimmers (as one might think) instead the swimmers create a context for the real focus of each piece – Light, colour and design. It is the refraction and reflection of light and colour that fascinates me the most. In the Underwater setting light bounces, shifts and moves in multiple direction simultaneously. These natural formation invite a multitude of powerful design opportunities.
I use fluid brushstrokes that mirror the movements of the swimmer. I also incorporate a rhythmic design to elevate the refraction and reflection of light and colour.”
