Software designer with psychology background, Zoé (she, they) is a contemporary still life artist that combines analytical eye with focus on art as depiction of inner life.
Zoé grew up in Kazakhstan and lived in Prague. Upon moving to Canada, Zoé landed into a group of emergent women painters working under the direction of Andrew Fay (Director, Ottawa School of Art). While training with Andrew Fay, Zoé explored acrylic and oils focusing on strengthening her voice.
Zoé creates to explore the unseen connections between emotion, memory, and form. Her work is a dialogue — between color and texture, light and shadow, intuition and intention. She is drawn to the spaces where the personal meets the universal, where raw experience can be distilled into something that resonates beyond the self.
Each piece she makes is an invitation — to pause, to feel, to wonder. Whether through bold abstraction, subtle detail, or layered narratives, she aims to spark curiosity and offer a space for reflection. Ultimately, her still life work is an ongoing exploration of how our spaces reflect us.
