Elisabeth Arbuckle was born in Wales and studied art in both Wales and England before starting her teaching career that lasted for more than thirty years and brought her to The Bahamas and eventually Canada. Working with students and seeing their enjoyment of new experiences and challenges, stimulated the same desire for Elisabeth within her own art practice. Elisabeth enjoys the diversity of exploring a variety of subject matter and media.
“I am a graphic designer by training, an art teacher by experience and a forever artist by practice. Retirement is the latest phase of my life and a chance to work the “day light hours” is very exciting to me. I have always made time to create through the different stages of life. I enjoy finding the rhythms and patterns in life and the connectivity of all elements through nature. I often return to my love of natural objects the minutiae of life; leaves, pebbles, shells, simple objects gathered or seen on a walk. Involvement in the arts has been a constant factor in my life.”
