Goran has been painting and drawing since he was a teenager, improving his talents via observation, ongoing practice, and learning from others. He mostly expresses himself through oil paintings, attempting to capture the essence of light and life’s moments. Born and bred in Croatia, he has lived in Ottawa for the past 25 years. The combination of cultures broadened his artistic viewpoint. He has been member of a few local art groups, and exhibited at variety of local venues including the Shenkman Centre, Ottawa Little Theatre, ArtCafe, and the St. Laurent Complex. His works can be found in both local private collections and collectors throughout Europe and South America. Goran is an artist who is motivated and influenced by the works of various painting masters while also incorporating a modern touch that allows for a unique personal expression.
As a self-taught painter, Goran focuses on landscapes, cityscapes, and still life. His art helps him communicate his vision of life, capturing the serene beauty of nature, the dynamic energy of urban environments, and the subtle elegance of everyday objects. Without formal training, Goran has developed a unique style driven by intuition and passion. Each painting reflects his deep connection to the world around us, inviting viewers to see and appreciate the beauty in both the extraordinary and the commonplace through his eyes.
