An award winning artist and member of many arts organizations, Lauren Henry’s works have been shown at galleries, art shows and festivals throughout Ontario and Quebec. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from the University of Toronto, studied Visual Art at York University and Graphic Design and Illustration at Sheridan College. She grew up on Manitoulin Island and returns yearly to her family cottage in northwestern Ontario. She is deeply concerned about our environment and finds inspiration in all the inhabitants of the northern landscape. Her works are in corporate and private collections across the country.
“I believe we are linked together with the natural world. The invisible bond that connects us is the source of my inspiration. The palette knife is my tool of choice, where I can apply thick layers of paint to achieve a textured, tactile and living sense of form.”
