Marie Jacques is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Ottawa, Canada, originally from Quebec City. Her practice moves between painting, photography, and digital mixed media.
She began her artistic journey as a painter, working primarily with oil and acrylic. Over time, her exploration of light, texture, and atmosphere led her to photography, and more recently to digital composition, where she combines photography with digital drawing and painting to create contemplative and evocative works.
Over more than a decade, she has presented her work in several solo exhibitions and group shows in Quebec, including at the Marius-Barbeau Museum, Moulin La Lorraine, Sainte-Marie Art Gallery, and the Saint-Georges Art and Exhibition Center. Her work was notably recognized with a Mention Prize from the Marius-Barbeau Museum.
In addition to her artistic practice, she has been actively involved in the cultural sector, including leadership roles within arts and cultural organizations in Quebec, before relocating to Ontario. She was a professional member of RAAV (Regroupement des artistes en arts visuels du Québec).
