Ever since childhood, I have been captivated by the interplay of art, nature, and architectural form. My earliest and most formative encounter with painting occurred during a school trip to the McMichael Gallery in Toronto. Standing before those iconic works, I was deeply moved not only by their beauty but also by the distinctive style and expressive power they conveyed. It was then that I resolved to one day pursue painting myself.

Throughout my formative years, I immersed myself in creative pursuits, attending art camps and developing a keen interest in architecture. My senior year culminated in a project designing a motel, for which my team and I constructed a detailed scale model complete with working lights. This project was recognized with an Award of Merit from the City of Scarborough and was exhibited at city hall for several months—a formative experience that reinforced my passion for both design and artistic expression.

While my professional journey led me into the world of finance, and family life became my primary focus for many years, my passion for art remained ever-present. I continued to nurture my creative instincts through photography, particularly drawn to capturing the vibrant colours and shifting moods of the Canadian landscape—especially the rich, warm hues of autumn, which have always resonated with me on a profound level.

In recent years, as my professional commitments have lessened and following my retirement last year, I have been able to devote myself more fully to painting. This renewed focus has allowed me to explore and refine my artistic voice. I have had the privilege of learning from esteemed artists such as Gordon Harrison, Noemie Cote, and Susan Reiter, as well as engaging in online coursework with Tim Packer. Their mentorship, along with the enduring influence of the Group of Seven, has been instrumental in shaping my approach and deepening my appreciation for the Canadian landscape tradition.

My work is a celebration of the natural world and the emotional resonance it evokes. Each painting is an invitation to experience the beauty, energy, and spirit of the landscapes that inspire me. I hope that my art brings as much joy to viewers as I experience in its creation.
