Monique was born in Casselman, eastern Ontario. Bilingual, she studied at Carleton University and at L’Université du Québec in “Change Management”.  The greater part of her career was spent working in human resources and adult education.

Monique always had a creative mind, enjoying drawing, music and poetry.  She is also drawn by the clam, and peace of mind nature provides, allowing a true connection with her heart and soul. After retiring in 2010 she concentrated her creation on painting.  Monique has invested in numerous art classes in order to explore various styles and techniques as well as mediums (oil, acrylic, watercolour, etc.). When in creating mode, she chooses the style and medium according to the subject matter.

“I am an established eastern Ontario artist born in Casselman and now reside in Rockland.  Since 2010.  I express my creativity through visual arts.  My love and admiration of nature, music and poetry provide the necessary inspiration for my paintings. My art tends to evoke memories, emotions and sometimes dreams allowing the viewer to constantly rediscover meaning in each piece.  Through my art I try to convey the beauty of the moment.

I use many types of mediums such as oil, ink, acrylic, watercolor, and pastels.  As for my preferred style, well, I am partial to figurative and abstract art I therefore developed my own approach to sometime mixing these two styles. Also, as the case with many artists, I may occasionally encounter setbacks or “painter’s block”, however the beauty with art is that these moments tend to unleash our creativity. The result of these moments can translate into an art piece that is simply amazing and an indication that my creations are truly in harmony with my heart and my soul.  My technique as with most artist is constantly evolving.  Mastering visual art for me is a tireless source of creativity and challenge that I embrace with determination and joy.  Each creation is a project of many hours, sometimes many days.”
