We, as artists, forever strive to create new images and explore new dimensions. Our exhibitions trace the results of our efforts. The three artists in this exhibition explore to expand the boundaries of their work in three different ways.
Eiko Emori is fascinated by the way translucent light is transmitted through glass made with the pâte de verre method, which gives an endless possibility for exploring new expression. What is interesting is the transformation of a cold industrial material, glass, into objects with a fourth dimension: changing colours, moving forms, and shifting lights.
For JungHee Lee-Marles, water is a captivating subject – its colours, movements, and sounds. Exploring a variety of ways to express these elements through different mixtures of media and techniques is a joyful experience. Her focus is on creating abstract waterscapes that express emotions symbolically – sometimes calm and quiet on the surface, while underneath, powerful currents of annoyance and frustration rush.
Mary Ann Varley explores many aspects of landscape and city scape – sometimes a specific time and place such as paddling a canoe on a lake or walking a street in a medieval city, at other times the vibrancy of New York City or imaginary cities. Her work extends from the photographic imagery into the creative inventions. The concept of exploration continues in her use of materials from drawing, collage, mixed media textures in acrylic, to expressions in oil.

Les artistes cherchent constamment à créer de nouvelles images et explorer de nouvelles dimensions. Les expositions retracent le résultat de leurs efforts.Dans la présente exposition, chacun des trois artistes explore à sa façon, cherchant ainsi à faire reculer les limites de leur art.
Eiko Emori est fascinée par la façon dont la lumière translucide est transmise par le verre. Elle fabrique ses œuvres selon la méthode du pâte de verre, qui offre une possibilité infinie d’explorer de nouvelles expressions. Cette transformation du verre, un matériau industriel froid, en objets aux couleurs changeantes, aux formes mouvantes et aux lumières vibrantes crée une quatrième dimension.
Pour JungHee Lee-Marles, l’eau est un sujet captivant – ses couleurs, ses mouvements et ses sons. L’exploration des diverses manières d’exprimer ces éléments par le biais de différentes techniques sur une variété de supports est une expérience joyeuse. Elle se concentre sur la création de paysages aquatiques abstraits remplis d’émotions – aux surfaces parfois calmes et tranquilles, sous lesquelles de puissants courants de contrariété et de frustration se déchaînent.
Mary Ann Varley explore paysages et villes – parfois un moment et un lieu spécifiques, comme pagayer en canoë sur un lac ou marcher dans une rue d’une ville médiévale, parfois vivre l’effervescence de New York ou de villes imaginaires. Ses œuvres sont en même temps photographiques et inventées. Son choix de technique est aussi sujet à exploration: le dessin, le collage, les textures mixtes à l’acrylique et les expressions à l’huile.
